A Journey from Chulho Chowko to Women’s Cooperative:-

Shri Indreni Women Farmer Group of 27 people was formed in Gauriganga Municipality Ward No.7 Indrapur on 27/04/16 2078 in the organization of Dalit Women’s Rights Forum Nepal in Gauriganga Municipality Ward No.7 Indrapur. The president of the group was Bhavisara Bathamagar, the women of the group were not affiliated to any government or non-cooperative organization when the women’s group was not formed. They didn’t even know about the local government. With the financial support of DCA, under the project of Dalit Mahila Adhikar Manch Nepal, 3 women groups in Gauriganga Municipality ward No. 7 were given leadership development and capacity building of different types of women, women’s rights, rights to information, rights to constitution. Basic rights and duties, policies, budgets and programs at local level against child marriage, planning process, laws, business plans, Domestic Violence Act 2066, Citizenship Act 2063, Cooperative Act 2074 and violence against women, caste untouchability and Discrimination Crime and Punishment Act 2068, Climate Change, Digital Literacy, Business Planning, Seasonal and Non-Seasonal Vegetable Farming, Local Government Operation Act 2074, Judiciary Work, Duty Rights, Cooperative Management etc. The women of the group began to actively participate in training, discussion, interaction, roundtable discussion, group monthly meeting, network meeting, ward interaction, ward level lobby and advocacy program. Due to the empowerment of women, the women of the group gradually began to save in cooperatives and opened accounts in the bank to save money.

They started to have group discussions on the issue of violence, the group started to participate more actively in social work, while working in this way, the society also started trusting them, 4 women of the group were members of the Shree Sunpal Vidyalaya Management Committee, 1 member of the Consumer Committee, 2 members of the Mankapur Irrigation Committee. Plan, 1 Akhil Women Sangh Nagar President, 4 people are working in domestic violence related organizations in the main positions of Sifarish, Cooperative Organization, Teacher Parents Committee, Consumer Committee, various political parties, government and non-cooperative organizations. The women in the community have been advocating and advocating for the issues of Kuskar, traditional traditions and questions in the community. A budget request form of 225,000 thousand was submitted from Ward No. 7 in the plan request form of the Basti meeting, and they have succeeded in passing the budget for the target program with an allocation of Rs. 900,000. The programs allocated from the wards are being organized by the group. After the capacity of the women of the group has been identified according to the time, in order to utilize the money raised from the monthly savings of Rs. With the aim of gathering the existing Capital and establishing and operating as a co-operative led by women, the group has made a pan number and by-laws of the co-operative. Shri Sunpal Mahila Sahakari Sanstha Limited has been established in Ward No. 7 Indrapur, Gauriganga Muncipalty. There are 255 members in the cooperative so far. One member have 10 shares of Rs 1000 entry fee is Rs 100. The women of the group have helped a cancer victim with Rs 5000. The cooperative has collectively produced potatoes and 190 bushels of mushrooms in 1 bigha and is selling and distributing them. The women’s group in Gauriganga Muncipality ward no. 7 has been discussing collectively with the local government to bring justice to the women of the victimized community who are under collective responsibility by bringing the women together and cooperating and coordinating with the local government. And with the aim of reducing the number of people in the community, they have been making monthly action plans and conducting programs in the respective communities.

The parents of that community usually do not live in the village and went to India to earn money because they do not have parents, and the children are trapped in drugs and addictions. To minimize this, the women of the group, with the aim of creating an environment for the mothers of the children to stay at home, collectively produce potatoes for the women in India through a cooperative organization. They plan to create jobs for the women of the community by creating jobs in the village and reducing drug addiction and addiction, in addition to raising public awareness in the community about social issues in the society they were conducting women’s empowerment programs.
